Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy
This database provides information on tax incentives, rebate programs, portfolio standards, interconnection standards, green power programs, and other state level policies that encourage renewable energy development. U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

The DOE website for energy efficiency and renewable technologies focuses on the range of renewable energy sources, including biomass, geothermal, solar and wind. Information is provided on DOE programs, R&D initiatives and financial opportunities. http://www.eere.energy.gov/

U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development

USDA Rural Development administers several programs that support the development of renewable energy systems and expansion of the economic viability of biomass projects. http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/rd/energy/


Renewable Energy Atlas of the West

A project of the Hewlett Foundation and The Energy Foundation. Produced 2002. This atlas contains full-color maps of the renewable energy resources of eleven western states, including high-resolution wind maps that are searchable in the online version. The atlas profiles wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass potential. Available at http://www.energyatlas.org.

Community Wind: An Oregon Guidebook
This guidebook, created by Northwest SEED for the Energy Trust of Oregon, provides background information on community wind development and lays out the components of a project, including assessing a wind resource, siting, permitting, ownership models, interconnection, financing, and sources of financial assistance. Most of the guidebook content is contained on this site however hard copies of the Guidebook are available, free of charge, from the Energy Trust.
